Love (Part 4.) ๐๐๐๐
So we are in the last segment of our topic, "love."
platonic love
This is the purest form of love; it seeks nothing in return. People who fall in love don't want to acquire what they love. There's just wholesome, pure love there. I think in media, this term is misused.
This concept feels unreal. Do people really fall in love platonically? Well, I have never fallen in love like that. I never felt that kind of love for anyone or anything. I always expect something in return, and there is definitely a sense of attachment. Is our love for music or for nature platonic? It feels like it is. But there's something that feels wrong when I say it's platonic, which I fail to express here.
If there's such a kind of love, I'd love to know how it feels to love someone like that or to receive that kind of love.
platonic love: A painting by Oana Maria |
"เถด්เถปේเถธเถบ เถฑเถธ් เถปාเถเถบෙเถฑ් เถญොเถป เทเถณ เถเท ිเถบ เทේ เถ เถ ිเถฑ්เถญ්เถบเถบි"
This song, sung by Dr. Nanda Malini's beautiful vocals, is about such love.
Some people believe Prof. Ediriweera Sarachchandra's "Malagiya Aththo" is also about such a kind of love, but I believe it's erotic as the character desires her at first. It's not platonic. well, I'm not a literature expert, so there might be things hidden or which I don't understand.
As Prof. Desmond Mallikarachchi says, Olu Pipila by Sunil Santha, one of the greatest unique musicians who changed the music culture, talks about a platonic love. There are numerous examples in literature of books and songs that discuss platonic love, but when I read them, they feel like fiction. The emotion I feel is a bittersweet one that sometimes turns into sadness. In my mind, I wonder why or how they can love someone like that. Perhaps the most important aspect of this love is the absence of such questions.
Thank you for staying tuned with "love."

I crave this kind of love sometimes... it's just what you need to get away from things that already bothers you ๐
